As we already know,
leadership is actually an influence
relationship. But what exactly is influence and how can we be an "influence" on
others?
Sometimes, we have
relationships, but we don’t have real influences on one another; at other times,
we have influence, but we don’t have relationships (followership) as a receptacle
to hold the influence. Do you have a plan to make yourself an influence in your
family, in your social circle, in your workgroup, in your public life, and in
society at large? How can your
realization of influence help you to cultivate your leadership skills?
Leadership is a key quality in which my family beholds. We strive to influence others and ourselves as we grow up. My father gave his best influences to my brothers and I and in return we always gave others our best influence. Whenever there was bad influences in our lives, we would stay away and stick together because w knew what was right from wrong. Realizing hat was right, we in turn influenced others to do right rather tan wrong and this is how our leadership skills came about. Our good influences from our father helped us practice good influences and in an end result, other children began to follow our good influences.
ReplyDeleteTo influence someone is when u make a mark on someone by your actions in either a positive or negative way. My way that I plan to make a positive influence is becoming an officer in the army. I've been learning key leadership qualities while attending Eastern's ROTC program. I've also aquired fundamental leadership skills while attending basic combat training and advanced individual training. I feel that one day I should be able to influence our society at large in a positive way by leading others on our battle field. I feel that growing up I've also influenced others positively by the decisions that I chose to make. I hope to further influence people with my leadership qualities and make a difference in society.
