Translated:

The light of the sun took us strolling
With the treasures of the world lying ahead,
Magic stones as bright as our eyes
Lighting a path before us
The peace of the woods was music to our hearts
Echoing the sound of the streams,
Autumn leaves - the voice on the wind
As nature is the source of our love
Now the stones are dancing in the sky
While the world is quietly sleeping,
Lovely visions in the secret garden,
Of dreams floating all around us
Traveling in this forest like a lost soul
Bright stars of knowledge shining for the king
Traveling in this forest like a lost soul
Bright stones lighting our way
Eyes ever shining with light
Eyes under a secret spell
Dreaming of the jewels in the garden
Of wonders that will never be revealed

Secret Garden 15.- In Our Tears (HD)

Secret Garden 13.- Adagio (HD)

Secret Garden 7.- Nocturne (HD)

Now let the day
Just slip away
So the dark night may watch over you
Velvet blue, silent true
It embraces your heart and your soul
Nocturne

Never cry, never sigh
You don't have to wonder why
Always be, always see
Come and dream the night with me
Nocturne

Have no fear
When the night draws near
And fills you with dreams and desire
Like a child asleep
So warm, so deep
You will find me there waiting for you
Nocturne

We will fly, claim the sky
We don't have to wonder why
Always be, always see
Come and dream the night with me
Nocturne

Though darkness lay
It will give way
When the dark night delivers the day
Nocturne

Secret Garden 23.- Dawn Of A New Century (HD)

Imagine

Our planet floating silently in space
Around it, a white dove flies--Forever circling
Every one hundred years, the dove's wing
Gently touches the surface of the earth
The time it would take for the feathered wing
To wear this planet down to nothing
Is eternity

Within eternity, time passes
Within time, there is change
Soon, the wing of the white dove
Will touch our world again
The dawn of a new Century
Time for a new beginning

Now is eternity
At the break of
Dawn of a century
A thousand years
Of joy and tears
We leave behind
Love is our destiny
Celebrate the
Dawn of a century
Let voices ring
Rejoice and sing
Now is the time
Now is eternity
Love is our destiny

Dawn of a century

Secret Garden 22.- Hymn To Hope (HD)

Secret Garden 17.- Prayer (HD)

Prayer

Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
Till we see the light
Hush, lay down your troubled mind
The day has vanished and left us behind
And the wind, whispering soft lullabies
Will soothe, so close your weary eyes
Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
Till we see the light
Sleep, angels will watch over you
And soon beautiful dreams will come true
Can you feel spirits embracing your soul
So dream while secrets of darkness unfold

MA 260 / Week Four Discussion: What was the reasoning behind some cities' decisions to build their own cable system and reject the major cable operators such as Comcast and Cox? Why did some of those community-owned cable systems go bankrupt?

Why did some cities, like Portland, build their own cable system and reject the major cable operators such as Comcast and Cox? Why are some of those community-owned cable systems, such as that of Portland, going bankrupt?

MA 260 / Week Four Discussion: What do you think that cable was characterized by the Court as an "electronic publisher" rather than a "common carrier?"

What do you think that cable was characterized by the Supreme Court as an "electronic publisher" rather than a "common carrier?"

MA 260 / Week Four Discussion: Why did anthology drama become less prevalent as a television program genre?

Why did anthology drama become less prevalent as a television program genre?

MA 260 / Week Four Discussion: How has the commercial nature of television influenced the content of television programming?

How has television content been greatly influenced by Nielsen ratings? How have program formats changed because of the mandate of advertising dollars?

MA 260 / Week Four Discussion: How did television influence the ethos of our American culture in both positive way and negative way?

Use pros and cons approach to evaluate television's impact on our society: How did television relate to our learning habit? how television relate to consumer culture and materialism? How television relate to our political election? How television relate to our family life and interpersonal relationship?

COM 325 / Week Four Discussion: Explain how Islamic religion and Islamic history go hand in hand.

The Islamic religion and Islamic history have been highly conflated since the establishment of both the Islamic religion and Muslim empires. Use the conflict between Sunnis and Shi'ites to show the high degree of overlapping between Islamic religion and Islamic history (the formation of the Muslim nation-states).

COM 325 / Week Four Discussion: Why are Mexicans proud of the pre-Columbian era (300 BCE - 1519 CE) ?

Even though 90% of the population was decimated immediately following the Spanish Conquest that began in 1519, most Mexicans (whom are actually more directly descended from the conquistadors than the natives) now identify strongly with their pre-Columbian heritage. Can you explain why?

COM 325 / Week Three Discussion: How should we view Red Russia's contribution to the World War II victory over Fascism?

In the most dreadful days of the Cold War years, President JFK acknowledged the great sacrifices made by the Soviet Union for the world salvation from Nazi domination. He said:

"...no nation in the history of battle ever suffered more than the Soviet Union suffered in the course of the Second World War. At least 20 million lost their lives. Countless millions of homes and farms were burned or sacked. A third of the nation’s territory, including nearly two thirds of its industrial base, was turned into a wasteland, a loss equivalent to the devastation of this country east of Chicago."

Did you know that during WWII, the Soviet Union was the victorious ally of the United States in the fight against the Axis Powers (although there was mutual distrust)?  Have history textbooks and the mass media done a good job of explaining why a victorious ally ended up as an "Evil Empire"?  How?

COM 325 / Week Four Discussion: How is history "a pact between the dead, the living, and the yet unborn"?

"The past causes the present" and "history illumines reality."  Therefore, the narrative of a people's history has never been neat and easy. Our common memory and tacit agreement about what happened in the past has been a major battlefield among different political ideologies. How we tell the history of our nation can significantly influence our expectations for future generations. Consider how the following two US history books were reviewed by Goodreads (http://www.goodreads.com/). How can history be viewed as "a pact between the dead, the living, and the yet unborn"?  Explain.

(1) Howard Zinn: A People's History of the United States: 1492 to Present"

   Review on Goodread

(2) Larry Schweikart and Michael Patrick Allen:   A Patriot’s History of the United States: From Columbus’s Great Discovery to the War on Terror.

      Review on Goodread:

COM 325 / Week Four Discussion: Why Is History Our "Religion"?

Our textbook cites several reasons for a people to know its history so the people can know "who they are" and "where they ought to go." History is a divine narrative of the people since its "genesis."  History lets people know that they have a special purpose on this planet. In a sense, history is our god, our religion, and our destiny. Tell us how your study of American history, such as the concept of "manifest destiny," relates to your identity, values, and worldview.
