COM 325 / Week #10 Discussion: Doing business with foreigners

Tell us your personal experience in doing business with people of different cultural backgrounds. For example, I am a Chinese doing business in America everyday. One big difference is that in America, you are not expected to counter-offer. In China, I can always counter the 10 bucks on a price tag with a "how about 5 bucks." In America, this is unacceptable. All prices are pretty much set-in-stone. Tell us your experience with regard to initial contact, negotiation, greeting protocols, banquet arrangement, etc.
